Poetry

the fall

The way we fell,

And, oh, how fun

It was to fall.

I could have

Fallen forever.

Yet, no matter

How high

The descent begins,

The ground,

Hard and unwelcoming,

Must continue to

Come closer and closer.

As soon

As you closed that

Taxi door,

I hit the ground;

And I’ve been

Trying to remember

The thrill of the fall

Ever since.
